GSP Trains for UFC 129 in Weird & Uncomfortable Ways [Video]

WTF.

GSP has got some rather unconventional training going on. I know, I know, perhaps I’m being a bit childish. I’m old enough to see that when you boil all of these movements down, it’s essentially strength & conditioning with some stretching.

But the world is not as understanding as I am.

In the first video, Georges St. Pierre is sitting down with his teeth clenched. I should say that even in fights, he has never been in such pain. His arms are held by another bald man from the back who, if I’m not mistaken is sporting a girlish smirk. Ok.

In the second video, GSP is holding two huge weights and doing the splits with pointed ballet toes. A man holds him by the stomach and lifts him above his head. Georges’ form is still perfect. And then he says, “fuck” which kinda ruins it for me.

GSP is clearly athletic. His routine is pure Gymkata. I don’t think it’s a French thing either. I’d even bet good money that Jake Shields doesn’t have the guts/ability to do any of these exercises.

I’m not sure if anybody feels the same way, but GSP has kind of painted himself into a corner. With these interesting videos on the web, he kind of has to beat Shields at UFC 129. Otherwise, these training routines no longer look killer and add to the semi homoerotic nature of MMA.
