My goodness man just retire.
When Cro Cop got knocked out by Brendan Schaub, Dana White was floating the possibility that this guy should you know, leave.
Turns out that’s too fast, too early. Cro Cop wants just one last fight before he calls it quits.
Dana White for the oddest reasons (possibly sadism) says that he’s cool with the idea. White plans to “honor [the] deal.” I don’t know who or when Cro Cop is going to fight, but I can’t see this being a good idea. Why? It seems like Cro Cop’s an absolute stiff in the Octagon. He’s simply not the same after having his head kicked off by Gonzaga.

There’s clearly a dichotomy between his younger days in Pride and the UFC. In Pride he was a factor to be feared. Left kick, left kick, left kick. In UFC? Dare I say it, another gatekeeper. It probably has something to do with age. And the fact that he’s been hit too many times in the face. I don’t know. Cro Cop seems like he’s afraid of something whenever he’s in the cage. He telegraphs his shots and doesn’t seem to let his hands go.
So do you know what might happen? Cro Cop steps into the cage all jittery and stuff. His opponent (probably some young gun with something to prove) picks apart the veteran with sharp hits. Cro Cop is so busy defending that he forgets about his left kick. Knockout. No more UFC. No more MMA. No chance of sponsoring beer in Japan. Career over. Yeah, serious business.
I hope Cro Cop goes out in fiery glory. This means letting the kicks go and hanging loose. Otherwise, eh. Doesn’t seem like it’s worth it.

Dana White on Cro Cop
“Do I think he should have retired? Yeah. But I don’t think he’s in one of these situations like Chuck Liddell, who needed to retire right then. He’s a man, a grown man, and if he wants to continue to fight, that’s his right. And he still has a fight with me.”

It’s the UFC Rules and Age of the fighter. Look at All the Pride fighters that merged to UFC they all took it hard with the adjustments of the rules. For example Wanderlei he’s a master of the ground and pound stomp and knee dirty fighter. You put him in UFC and say you can’t do this and that and fight clean …etc. It changes the how one fights.
